Bruce Munro: Field of Light at Eden Project, Cornwall, UK. November 2008 to February 2009
Eden Project near St Austell, Cornwall is one of the most visited attractions in England. Opened in 2001, a disused china clay quarry was transformed into a ecological centre housing plants collected from around the world growing within three geodesic biomes. With education, research and social enterprise at the core of its purpose Eden Project is also famed as a venue for the presentation of visual arts.
In November 2008 the spaces between the Tropical, Mediterranean and Outdoor biomes were transformed into a nocturnal botanical landscape by Field of Light. Stretching over an area of about 1.2km the exhibition was open to the public for 4 months.
